What is a PowerMonkey eXplorer?

The PowerMonkey eXplorer is a portable, lightweight, battery back up device that will provide you with 96 hours of standby power on your mobile phones, 40 hours on the iPod, 6 hours on games consoles, 48 hours on a PDA, 6 hours on MP3/MP4 players, eight hours on GPS systems, 1600 extra photos from your digital camera.

What is the solar panel thingy all about (SolarMonkey)?

Included with the PowerMonkey eXplorer is a small, robust solar panel, which works with the PowerMonkey eXplorer along with all your small electronic devices. In other words, the PowerMonkey eXplorer and the solar panel will power and charge the same devices, the only difference being that the PowerMonkey eXplorer is a battery pack and the solar panel uses UV rays from the sun to power and charge.

If you have a household full of mobile phones, Nintendo DS, Sony PSPs, digital cameras, MP3 players, portable speakers to mention a few then the PowerMonkey eXplorer will fit all devices, they DO NOT have to be used together, you can have the solar panel charging your mobile phone while using the PowerMonkey to charge or power a Nintendo DS.

The PowerMonkey Explorer features an LCD screen that displays battery capacity and the level of charge, it also has short-circuit protection, over-charging protection and over-discharging protection. The included mains charger has interchangeable heads for UK, Europe, US and Australia - so you can use it in over 150 countries around the world!

If you want to charge your Power Monkey eXplorer then the Motor Monkey is the product you are looking for. The compact and lightweight Motor Monkey will give you power all the time you are driving in your car, using the car cigarette lighter.
