The ISP3 is designed to fit into the standard IEC 320 C13 to C14 kettle style connector. The unit is fitted with both a power on indication light and audible alarm (70d B @ 8cm) in case of a severe surge damaging the unit. The unit will have protected your equipment and will maintain the power supply. The unit fit PC's, monitors, scanners, fax machines and many other home and office electrical equipment. The addition of an audible alarm enables the unit to be located out of sight.
As computer components and circuits become smaller, modern equipment becomes more vulnerable to the effects of surges and spikes on the incoming power supply. These are mainly caused by uneven power supplies, heavy equipment start up, even the simple act of turning on the kettle, a life moving between floors or a vacuum cleaner being used and of course in some cases lightning strikes. Most surges can be seen simple as a variation to the normal power supply pattern.
Overvoltages are persistent voltage increases in the supply, which can last anything over a few seconds.
Transient Overvoltages or spikes are huge voltage increases lasting no more than a milisecond. Overvoltages and Severe Transient Overvoltages can physically burn out circuit boards. Normally damage is less dramatic but it will still shorten the life of sensitive electronic components.
Due to the size, world wide compatability and ease of use, the ISP range of products are also ideally suited for the Global traveller.
