There have been many famous monkeys over the years, some have been on TV, many were found in Spanish private residences, performing for their owners! Thankfully much of this has stopped now as Monkey World came to the rescue and built a wonderful reserve in Devon,UK. We think Monkey World deserve a little space on our monkey products website, so 3 cheers for Monkey World!
Joe Cartoon Monkey Looker. We disciovered Joe Cartoon many years ago and we have rolled up laughing at his artistic creations! Joe Cartoon maynot be to everyone's tastes but Chris and I enjoy Joe Cartoon and as he had a cartoon about a monkey we thought we would add him here too.
Planet of The Apes (1968) film. The film was ground-breaking for its make-up techniques by artist John Chambers. The script was originally written by Rod Serling but had many rewrites before eventually being made.[2] Changes included character names and a more primitive ape society, instead of the more expensive idea of having futuristic buildings and advanced technology. The film was well received by critics and audiences, it was re-made in 2001.
Bubbles lived at a cancer research clinic in Texas until 1985 when he relocated to California in the company of Michael Jackson. For the following decade he often accompanied Jackson to award ceremonies (wearing matching outfits) and was seen widely by the public. Rumored to have his own bodyguard, Bubbles sat in during several recording sessions for Jackson's album Bad.
King Kong is the name of a fictional giant gorilla from the fictional Skull Island, who has appeared in several works since 1933. These include the groundbreaking 1933 film, the film remakes of 1976 and 2005, and numerous sequels. His role in the different narratives varies from source to source, ranging from mindless monster to tragic antihero. The rights to the character are currently held by Universal Studios, with limited rights held by the estate of Merian C. Cooper.
Albert the Monkey Astronaut. The first monkey astronaut was named Albert. The second monkey astronaut was, imaginatively, called Albert II. While Albert II was technically the first monkey to reach space altitude, it wasn't until the fifth line in the Albert dynasty (Albert V), that a monkey successfully returned from space. Unfortunately for Albert V, his parachute let him down and he became another victim of the human space race.
